So, if you missed April's Therapy Room Comedy Club caper featuring PAUL F TAYLOR and TREVOR LOCK we'll forgive you, but don't make the same mistake twice. Instead, put MAY 28th in your diary, book a babysitter (or just leave the kids on their own) and buy a few tickets for the greatest comedy night in Tunbridge Wells.
Fun, foul-mouthed frolics assured. You know it makes sense...
STEPHEN UPSALL
Just like a piece of chewing gum stuck on your shoe, we can't seem to get rid of Stephen Upsall. But that's OK, because everybody loves chewing gum, right? Some say Therapy Room's resident compere actually lives in The Grey Lady, we've even come to suspect it ourselves.... wherever he resides, we're thrilled to have Stephen on board. With his witty and wry observation of life in Tunbridge Wells, Stephen always has local residents in stitches.
PAT BURTSCHER
Is Pat Burtscher Greek? Is he Austrian? Is he Canadian? Well, he's a mixture of all three. Whether that explains his random, casual, offbeat style of comedy, we don't know. We do know, however, that this bloke will turn your stomach inside out.... in a good way, that is. Finalist in both the Laughing Horse and Hackney Empire new act competitions last year, Pat has been described as both a genius and unhinged oddball. Either way, we love his style, and can't wait to have him on stage at the Therapy Room Comedy Club.
"Pat Burtscher has the air of an acid casualty, gazing at an angle to the floor or to the middle-distance while random thoughts tumble out of his mouth."
- Chortle UK Comedy Guide
"Burtscher's delivery is dry and just the right side of cynical." - www.spoonfeed.co.uk
Unapologetic, no-holds-barred, riskee... that's Carey Marx in a nutshell. 'I've got a new rape joke' - just one of the many un-pc lines you can expect to hear from this addictive genius on any given night. Midgets, religious nutjobs, his unfortunate missus (nicknamed 'Elbow Face'), there aren't many topics Marx won't touch. Boasting charm and intelligence in equal measure, Carey fires jokes at his audience with the rate and efficiency of a machine gun. Rest assured, his performance at The Grey Lady will linger in the mind for a long time.
"The jokes are short and sharp, often uncomfortably so, as any morality is sacrificed on the altar of quick laughs."
- Chortle UK Comedy Guide
"As a stand-up, his A-list memories and status stands him in good stead as he pricks the balloon of celebrity and takes everyone laughing on their way." - The Comedy Club UK
